From 1991–1995, I have been engaged as Multimedia & Graphics Ambassador. My primary responsibilities focused on technology marketing of the windows, graphics and user interface technology coming out of the R&D and product development departments from Sun Microsystems. My key contributions during this time are:

  • Hosting the CHI-93 Candlelight Canal Boat tour in Amsterdam with 30 key people from the Computer-Human Interaction field like Dr. Bob Glass and Bruce “Tog” Tognazzini (both fathers of the Apple graphical user interface.
  • Being the technological link between Sun's Dutch customers and Sun's American technology and product development and marketing, focusing on the NeWS (Network extensible Window System), the X Windows system and the OPEN LOOK Graphical User Interface, and later followed by the Motif user interface.
  • Over the years, my role changed to Multimedia Ambassador to cover all aspects from User Interfaces, Graphics, Audio, Video, and Computer-Human Interaction, helping clients, partners and ISVs like Adobe, Agfa, Ahold,Centraal Beheer, ESTEC, ITT Publitec (Gouden Gids), Koning & Hartman, Johan Enschedé, Kodak, KPN, Logica, NOB, NOS, Océ, Oracle, Philips, Postbank, Rabobank, Shape Technical Center, TNO, Triple P, Uniface, Veronica, VNU, VPRO, Wegener, to use Sun’s solutions and technology effectively.
  • Gave thousands of presentations, hosted many seminars and tradeshows (annually on NLUUG, PUUG, Efficiency Beurs, IT94, IT95, International Film Festival (1996), IFRA, The Internetworking Event).
