Martien's feedback
- excellent write-up Druk! thanks
- please see diff for some small changes I've made
- three types of advice:
- how long is today? 24 hours?
- can you make it specific please?
- seems to me that type B advice is also a must for first version of Cheetah
- please note that the use of "type A", "type B" etc. can be confusing in the context of diabetes "type 1", "type 2", etc.
- perhaps you can rename them into short, medium and long term advice
- Type A Advice
- wonder if users want to fill in future food or insulin intake
- cheetah knows from past experiences what user will do regarding food/insulin intake, right?
- Type B advice:
- I don't expect Cheetah to search for causes:
- Cheetah is always up to date.
- Every new entry or fact fed into Cheetah, causes her to nudge her knowledge and advice accordingly.
- No searching needs to be done.
- I don't expect Cheetah to search for causes:
- Type C advice:
- This is way off for the current version of Cheetah; may be some future version.
- I'm still not happy with the "curve" approach.
- Cheetah has no knowledge about a curve.
- Cheetah learns about patterns in food/activity/health/insulin on the fly, getting better in getting better as more facts are entered into Cheetah and become available from peers.
- On Cheetah's behaviour in general:
- Linda" "I want to eat a chocolate bar now. Can I? And how much insulin do I need te take?" Cheetah: Based on earlier experience, my estimate is that your blood glucose level hovers around 5.0. You may want to check this to be sure. So it's okay to have a chocolate bar. But no more."
- Linda: "We're having [small] pancakes. I think I'll eat four of them. Some with sugar, some with syrup. How much insulin do I need to take?" Cheetah: "Based on past experiences, inject 23 units of Act Rapid".
- I'm off to volleyball. Do I need to eat anything now or later? If yes, what and how much?
- Linda: "I feel like having a hypo. So let me check. Yes! I'm at 2.4. Now what?" Cheetah: "It's 15:20. Have a glass of Fanta and an apple."
- So, in general the pattern is: Linda: "I'm about to [eat or drink | do] something. Cheetah: [inject | eat or drink] amount unit of [insulin | food or drink].
- Conditions
- I do not completely understand what you're saying here. Please elaborate on this in a f2f meeting.
- Prediction system types
- From a software architecture point of view, this calls out for pluggable idependent prediction modules with a well defined interface and a way to combine or merge the feedbacks of each into a single advice to the user; this way, we (or any other innivation) can simply replace the current advisory system with a better one later.
- Model Performance
- Right, so if you make these criteria more precise and measurable, we can use them to evaluate the options and make a choice.
