MIT's Technology Review's article on 10 Ways to Think about Innovation summarize as follows:

  1. Have faith.
  2. Embrace failure.
  3. Be thrilled by hard questions and problems.
  4. Connect across disparate disciplines.
  5. Make it completely open so others can innovate on your works,
  6. Make it resilient and robust.
  7. Delight in giving mankind what it desires.
  8. Solve a real problem, even if people don't know they have that problem.
  9. Make the system useful for user number one, right from the start.
  10. Make it heal the world.
