Set up your mail account

You will have your own mail account at AardRock. To be able to use it, first set it up.

To set up your mail account in Apple Mail

1. Select Mail > Preferences…
2. Select the Accounts tab.
3. Click the + in the lower-left corner to add a new account.
4. Select Account Type > IMAP.
5. Enter your preferred Account Description, e.g. Max@AardRock.
6. Enter your Full Name, e.g. Max Headroom.
7. Enter your Email Address in the form of Account@AardRock.COM; Normally, your first name is your account name. Please use the AardRock convention and write your account name with an initial capital. Also, use the proper capitalization for AardRock.COM. Thank you.
8. Click Continue.
9. Enter the Incoming Mail Server: mail.aardrock.com.
10. Enter your user name all in lower case, e.g. max.
11. Enter the password provided to you by services.
12. Click Continue; Mail will check your account details; this may take a number of seconds.
13. Enter your Outgoing Mail Server provided to you by your ISP, e.g. smtp.bbeyond.nl.
14. Click Contintue; Mail will check the outgoing mail server; this may take some time.
15. Review the Account Summary and click Continue.
16. Click Done, to stop adding more accounts.

To set up your email account in Microsoft Outlook Express

1. Select Extra > Accounts.
2. Click Add and select E-mail...
3. Enter your Full Name, e.g. Max Headroom and click Next.
4. Enter your Email Address in the form of Account@AardRock.COM; Normally, your first name is your account name. Please use the AardRock convention and write your account name with an initial capital. Also, use the proper capitalization for AardRock.COM. Then click Next.
5. Select IMAP as servertype for incoming mail.
6. Enter the Incoming Mail Server: mail.aardrock.com.
7. Enter your Outgoing Mail Server provided to you by your ISP, e.g. smtp.bbeyond.nl. Click Next.
8. Enter your user name all in lower case, e.g. max.
9. Enter the password provided to you by services.
10. (Optional) Choose to remember your password.
11. Click Next.
12. You've finished the installation. Click Finish.
13. Click Close in the 'internet-accounts' screen to stop adding more accounts.

To set up your email account in Microsoft Outlook

1. Select Tools > Account Settings..
2. Click Add Account....
3. Select Email account and click Next.
